August 2020 Wrap Up

Hey bookish peeps!

Here I am again, apologizing for my HORRIBLE posting lately. Seriously, August feels like it just happened in a blink of the eye. I have missed posting on here. I haven’t had a ton of free time and I didn’t want to post something just for the sake of it ya know?

I figured I would hop on here and mention that A) I’m still here, B) I’ve been reading!, & C) I am way more active on IG (so if you want to follow me over there I promise ill be a better bookish friend lol).

I want to do my AUGUST wrap up! I did read some great books and some ARCS and overall, I feel happy about my reading for the month! I think I could have fit 1 or 2 more books in there but I got a little lazy mid August and then picked up again towards the end of the month hahaha anyone else do this??

So lets start with all the books I read for August – I read 6 books!

  • Big Summer – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Get a Life, Chloe Brown – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Clap When You Land – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Love Sold Separatly – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Throwaway Girls – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Grave Secrets – ⭐⭐⭐

Big Summer was my fav of the month by far! Don’t get me wrong – I LOVED Chloe Brown… but Big Summer was just a really good story with mystery and IG influence life. I just really loved it.

If you haven’t read Big Summer…. GO NOW, READ IT MY GRASSHOPPER.

As for my fav things around the blog…. I have been a bad bad book blogger you guys. I have fallen off the book blog world. I don’t have much to share, simply because, I didn’t really read any blogs at all in August. Like I said, August went by SO FAST and I just couldn’t keep up. SORRY FRIENDS.

Avoid The Office GIF

But I will say, I have watched like 500 million hours (not quite, but like maybe) of BookTube. I’m obsessed. I don’t know what to say – i’m not really proud of how much I’ve been watching but also BACK OFF, let me do what I love. My heart wants BookTube and that’s just the way its going to be.

So, let me share some BookTubers and some specific videos I really loved this month:

Kayln Aridged – she is literally so cute omg

Jesse The Reader – just so entertaining all the time

I especially enjoyed his video “Talkin Bookish Things In Bed” he posted recently!

Hailey In Bookland – LOVE HER

I could probably post all of her videos here but if you want to listen to her talk about all sorts of books in detail – go watch her Books I Read in Quarantine videos!!

That is all for now everyone! I will try to be more active on here like I really want to be! I think I need to figure out the posts that make me excited and just want I most want to share with you all!!

For now, I shall leave you with a QUESTION:

What was your fav read of August?

July 2020 Wrap Up

Hey friends!

Where did July go???? Like actually this month went by quicker than any month this year. I have been a busy bee and just feel like there isn’t enough time to do everything I want to do, so this month was not long enough!

Updates on me: I am still working from home. This makes it about 4 months now which is seriously crazy, it hasn’t felt that long! I don’t know how much longer Ill be working from home but I am soaking it up the best I can. I’m finding that it is different and I do miss being social, but I’m also loving it and find that I’m quite productive when I get to be in my home office, Its more relaxing to me and therefore I get more done! I know that isn’t the case for everyone, but its working for me!

busy work GIF

Also – I kind of just stopped posting blog posts for the last couple weeks. I went to Kelowna around the middle of the month and ever since coming back I just found myself to be insanely busy. I just haven’t found the time to sit down and properly focus on writing posts and because I wasn’t fully concentrated I didn’t want to put something out that was half assed. So, I’m really hoping to get back into a schedule for August! I think Ill be posting a little less just so I can keep up and post quality content for you all!!

Reading updates: I was able to finish 5 books this month! I started off slow with reading. I finished The Heir Affair and then went into a bit of a book hangover haha I just didn’t feel like reading and couldn’t get into anything. But, I got over that and I started reading again and finished 5 books so I’m happy with that!

May Wrap Up

Hello there friends!

Another month is gone. As usual I am wondering where the time has gone?? I feel like I am getting into the routine of being home now. I’m not sure if that is a positive thing or not LOL I think we are all going to be incredibly anti-social by the time this is all over.

However, this month the restrictions have eased a bit where I’m living and I was able to get some dinner at Oliver Garden so that was awesome!! I didn’t realize how much I missed throwing my money away at a restaurant 😂

Anyways – this month has been a decent reading month for me. You’ll see below that I read 6 books. This seems to be pretty normal for me. Usually 5 or 6 books a month! I so wish I was one of those people that read 10 + books every month but that is just NOT me. I cannot focus that much and obviously my reading speed is on the slower side haha. Are you a person who reads tons of books a month?? If so, please share some tips with me!!

So, lets get to it then! This is a little look into my month!

What I Read This Month:

  • Terraformer by Colleen Houck
  • The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel
  • Wilder Girls by Rory Power
  • The Little Bookshop of Love Stories by Jaimie Admans
  • The Leveller by Julia Durango
  • The Last to Know by Jo Furniss

Favourite Books This Month:

  • Terraformer – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • The Little Bookshop of Love Stories – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • The Book of Lost Names – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Favourite TV/Movies:

  • Star Wars (new one) – So fun fact about me… I have never ever watched a Star Wars movie. I had like no interest at all lol they just looked so old 🤷‍♀️ anyways, I know you are all thinking I’m horrible now LOL but my boyfriend loves Star Wars and when this new one came out on Disney+ he was like we need to watch it. So, I sat down with the expectation that this would be dumb because well a) I’ve never seen any of the movies so that’s confusing and b) I just figured it wouldn’t be my style. I WAS WRONG YOU GUYS!! This was a fantastic movie. I loved it so much!!
  • Trolls Movie – I ordered the “world premier” of this one as just something cute to watch one night and it was super adorable. I actually loved it and was dancing in my seat the whole time!!

Favourite Songs/Artists:

  • Stuck With You – Ariana Grande & Justin Bieber
  • Savage (remix) – Megan Thee Stallion ft. Beyonce

April Wrap Up

Hey there my bookish friends!

CAN YOU BELIEVE APRIL IS OVER???? Where did the time go? I looked at the calendar a couple days ago and I actually had to look a second time because I was shocked we were already at the end of the month. I feel like we actually time traveled. I am just so confused LOL.

So, on a personal note, I have been busy working still which I am super thankful for! This whole COVID thing has been so draining and I really feel for people that are struggling right now. I help people for a living and it hurts my heart that regular people who normally have no problem living their lives are struggling and losing their jobs. I am sending so many good vibes to all you wonderful people and I hope you are all healthy and safe ❤

March Wrap Up

The end of March already?? Crazy how time has just flown by!! I feel like so much has been happening this month.

So many changes and still some changes to come. I know that my work has been different since this virus has grown in severity! I am working from home for the first time ever and while the situation that brought it on is horrible – I am LOVING working from home. Life changing!! I envy you people that always get to work from home. Truly the best!

Personally, I feel like I have done nothing super noteworthy this month. It was my dad’s birthday this month, so that was great! I attended a cheerleading competition with the team I coach. I started to go to the gym again and have found *some* joy in running on the treadmill! Small victories 🎉

Now to some of my fav things this month 🙂

The Lanterns Ember by Colleen Houck – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

The House in the Cerulean Sea – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Josh and Hazels Guide to Not Dating bu Christina Lauren – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Favourite movies/ TV shows

I really haven’t been watching much TV or really any movies. However, I started to watched a couple new shows that seem interesting so far so I will include them!

Locke and Key (TV show on Netflix) – So far so good!! Living up the hype I was hearing about it

The Tiger King (Netflix) – PLEASE WATCH THIS! Literally the weirdest, funniest, more entertaining show. It is SO WEIRD at times, like this stuff can’t be made up. Give yourself some joy during this quarantine time and watch The Tiger King.

Favourite songs/ artists

The Man by Taylor Swift – Cannot get enough of this one!! I wasn’t sure of it at first but man did it grow on me

You Should Be Sad by Halsey – Again, I wasn’t sure about this one at first but it grew on me and I seriously love it. Love the song, the lyrics, her voice… all sooooooo good!

I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died by Riley Green – I just love this song and Riley Greens’ voice! I go through phases of reallllyy loving country music. This song is sparking my come back to country haha

Reading wise – I only managed to finish 3 books. Between all of the packing, planning, working, and stressing… reading didn’t get to happen as much as I wanted. However, the 3 books I read, I absolutely loved! So that was a major plus 🙂
