Hey there my friends 🙂
I want to start off this post by thanking you all for reading my posts! I honestly didn’t think that people would be interested in what I have to say or share, but I was surprised to see that there is a few of you that do! So thanks for sticking around. I am still pretty new to the blogging life but I’m loving it and hope to just get better and better!
So anyways, today I am sharing my review of The Case For Jamie! As you know I have been working my way through the Charlotte Holmes series by Brittany Cavallaro and have been very impressed!! I have posted reviews for the 2 books before this one so feel free to check those out 🙂
I’d love to know if anyone else on here has read these books! I love them so I’d be super interested to hear some other perspectives or just chat about how great they are haha!
Here is my review!!
It’s been a year since the shocking death of August Moriarty, and Jamie and Charlotte haven’t spoken.
Jamie is going through the motions at Sherringford, trying to finish his senior year without incident, with a nice girlfriend he can’t seem to fall for.
Charlotte is on the run, from Lucien Moriarty and from her own mistakes. No one has seen her since that fateful night on the lawn in Sussex—and Charlotte wants it that way. She knows she isn’t safe to be around. She knows her Watson can’t forgive her.
Holmes and Watson may not be looking to reconcile, but when strange things start happening, it’s clear that someone wants the team back together. Someone who has been quietly observing them both. Making plans. Biding their time.
Someone who wants to see one of them suffer and the other one dead.
I am happy to say that for the third time, I have not been let down in the slightest by this series!! The third book is just as good if not better than the last 2. I am so in love with this series ❤❤❤❤
The plot is great! Very entertaining and with a lot of twists and turns! Jamie and Charlotte are back at it again! This time however, Jamie and Charlotte are not solving the mystery together (at least not at first). This gives the story a different feel and I honestly loved it. I felt like I was getting to know Jamie and Charlotte better and was starting to see Jamie fend for himself which was a fun turn of events! Jamie really grew in this book!
“The Great Big Destiny delusion. That your life is a story that twists and turns it’s way up to a narrative precipice, a climax, the moment where you’ll make the hard decision, defeat the villain, finally prove yourself worthy. Leave some kind of mark on the world” – Jamie (pg. 2)
Jamie has all sorts of amazing deep thoughts during this book. He and Charlotte do a lot of reflection which gave me a great respect for both of their characters!
The Moriarty family is back and just as mean and cruel as ever!! Wait until you see what they are up to, it will shock you!! At one point I literally gasped OUT LOUD at something they did! It was a wild ride, that’s all I can say!
The writing was really good! The chapters switched back and forth from Jamie to Charlotte the entire book which I enjoyed! It broke up the story and gave both of their thoughts and feelings. It was very interesting seeing Jamie and Charlotte’s perspective on the same events! It showed how different but similar they are and I think made their relationship make more sense. I felt more of a connection to Charlotte’s character this time around. The author did SUCH a good job on giving background information on Charlotte and her family! I didn’t realize how bad I wanted that information until I got it!
Overall, the book was so good! It was entertaining and I was always on my toes just anticipating the next chapter and couldn’t put it down! Jamie and Charlotte have a special place in my heart. I love the relationship they have going on! I 100% recommend this book and the series. It is so good! The mysterys are light but so detailed and well thought out!
Really more like 4.5/5!!
Well there it is!! I feel like I could say a million more things about this book but honestly who wants to read all that LOL.
